Throughout university I have taken modules in Media Business, Media Law and Public Relations all of which I believe are invaluable skills. I have had the opportunity throughout independent work experience and through my degree to be involved in the many different areas of the journalism and business industries seeing the changes they have experienced over recent years with the wide use of citizen journalism and increase in societal use of social media. I am an enthusiastic, open and driven individual with a willingness to accept a challenge and improve on the skills I already have in order to be truly successful.

Captain of Cardiff University Ladies Lacrosse Second Team

  • Involves organizing travel to and from events, running 3 training sessions per week and picking the team from the squad.

  • Involves admin around paperwork from match results and changes in tabling for the BUCS competitions.

  • Active member of the committee, involves bringing up issues from members not on the committee, problem solving and working as a democratic team.

Press and Media Officer, NewportLive

February 2018 - present

  • Interviews and writes articles for the Newport Live website.

  • Getting in touch with members of the community to interview and talk to them about their experiences with Newport Live.

  • Compiled Press Lists and updated Press and Media contacts.

  • Writes and releases Press Releases.

  • Attends and aids at PR events and conferences.

  • Assisted in the PR for the Junior Track Cycling Championships in Partnership with Sport Wales.
